Documentary “Flowers Don’t Grow Here” is told through the eyes of a gang of Ukrainian street children, offering an intimate and uncompromising portrayal of the young individuals paying the ultimate price for political reform. A life so at odds with ‘New Europe’: a childhood haunted by prostitution, addiction, crime, violence and murder... The film has been awarded the Big Issue Social Care Award at the Document 4: International Human Rights Film Festival 2006, and a Special Mention in the OMCT Category at the FIFDH (International Festival of Human Rights Geneva) 2006.
