Further Info
“Shelter in Place” is filmed and directed by renowned photojournalist Zed Nelson. From the war in Sierra Leone, to back-stage with the Rolling Stones, Zed’s work is challenging and diverse, but always about people and the world we have made for ourselves. One of Zed’s most recognised projects is 'Gun Nation': a disturbing reflection on America’s deadly love affair with the gun, winner of five major international photography prizes. Having gained international recognition after a decade spent working in some of the harshest areas of the world, Zed’s recent work as a documentary filmmaker focuses on international social issues. “Shelter in Place” is Zed’s first film and he is currently in development on “Soweto Dying”, also with Clarity Productions.
The documentary is produced by Hannah Patterson who writes regularly on film and documentary for Sight&Sound, DOX, Vertigo, Time Out Guides, The Guardian and the TCM International Film Guide. She is the commissioning editor of Kamera Books, Creative Essentials and Pocket Essentials on Film. She is the producer of the short film “Dead Clean”, with “Shelter in Place” her first long-form project. “Shelter in Place” is edited by John Mister, with Production Manager Carina Wilson, Executive Producer for Clarity Productions Sarah Tierney and Executive Producer for the Channel 4 British Documentary Film Foundation Steve Boulton.
