Synopsis

Nearly half of all children in Britain today start drinking before they turn 13. “Alcotots” looks at the realities of growing up in Britain’s booze culture, where alcohol is now synonymous with teenage growing pains. From eight-year-old Laura who has gin in her lemonade, to 15-year-old Holly who says alcohol takes her to ‘wonderland’, “Alcotots” presents a child’s-eye-view of a generation at risk of drinking themselves into an early adulthood…

Commissioned for the Channel 4 ‘First Cut’ strand, the documentary was filmed and directed by Ruth Carslaw, produced by Sarah Tierney and edited by Gary Scott.
