28 Jan 2010
"Pollphail" has been selected in-competition to Go Short: International Short Film Festival Nijmegen, Netherlands, and the 4th Flatpack Film Festival UK.
Directed by Matthew Lloyd and produced by Carina Wilson, creative documentary "Pollphail" unravels a unique and unsettling story of the imagined future of a village-in-limbo, built to great acclaim during the 1970s oil boom but never inhabited... Following it's World Premiere at the 53rd Times BFI London Film Festival 2009, the documentary has screened in-competition at the 13th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, CPH:DOX (nominated for NEW:VISION Award), 7th World Film Festival of Bangkok, 7th Inverness Film Festival and the 15th Encounters Short Film Festival.
Go Short: International Short Film festival is an annual festival for European short films. This year the festival received 888 entries from 38 countries. "Pollphail" will screen in the Documentary section, where it is eligible for the Documentary Jury Award and the Audience Award. Go Short takes place from the 17th to 21st March 2010 in Nijmegen, Netherlands.
Reviewed as "a weird and wonderful little festival" (The Guardian) and "Britain's most exciting and innovative film festival" (Lonely Planet), the 4th Flatpack Film Festival takes place in Manchester between the 23rd and 28th March 2010. Flatpack is produced by 7 Inch Cinema and supported by UK Film Council, Arts Council England and Screen West Midlands.
