"Pollphail" to screen at Encounters Short Film Festival 2009

12 Nov 2009

Creative documentary, "Pollphail", directed by Matthew Lloyd and produced by Carina Wilson, will screen as part of the "Scottish Showcase" at Encounters Short Film Festival on Friday 20th November 2009.

The "Scottish Showcase" presents films from new and emerging filmmakers in Scotland, and is programmed in association with Scottish Screen. "Pollphail" will be one of seven films screening on Friday 20th November at 16:00 in Watershed Cinema 1.

Creative documentary "Pollphail" unravels a unique and unsettling story of the imagined future of a village-in-limbo, built to great acclaim during the 1970s oil boom but never inhabited... Following it's World Premiere at the 53rd Times BFI London Film Festival last month, "Pollphail" has been reviewed by independent UK film magazine "Little White Lies" as "an excellent documentary" in which "archive footage is sensitively handled alongside current interviews to create an absorbing story."

"Pollphail" is also currently screening in competition at CPH:DOX (Denmark) and in World Film Festival Bankgkok (Thailand).
