Creative documentary Pollphail selected in competition to CPH:DOX 2009 in the New Vision section
14 Oct 2009
Matthew Lloyd and Carina Wilson's creative documentary "Pollphail" builds on its early distribution success with selection in-competition to the official programme of CPH:DOX 2009.
The Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival is the largest documentary film festival in Scandinavia, showcasing more than 180 films selected from over 33,000 worldwide entries.
Creative documentary "Pollphail" unravels a unique and unsettling story of the imagined future of a village-in-limbo, built to great acclaim during the 1970s oil boom but never inhabited... The film has been selected to the 'New Vision' section which features "experimental and innovative films that are crucial to the existence and evolution of documentary. Over the past decade artists have been increasingly drawn to documentary film, bringing an alternative and often conceptual approach to the genre. It is here, in this borderland, we find some of the most interesting challenges to documentary". Selected films compete for a prize of 5000 EURO.
Clarity Productions has another film screening as part of CPH:DOX, short documentary "At Home with the Jedi" which is competing for the SHORT:DOX Award 2009.
CPH:DOX takes place from the 6th to 15th November 2009.
