Award-winning "Christmas with Dad" selected to the 32nd Starz Denver Film Festival

Conor McCormack and Sarah Tierney's short documentary "Christmas with Dad" to screen at the prestigious 32nd Starz Denver Film Festival in November 2009.

The Starz Denver Film Festival is a major festival in North America. Run by the Denver Film Society, the festival's vision is to "...cultivate community and transform lives through film, using cinema's potential to transform as well as reflect society in all its diversity...". The 32nd Starz Denver Film will award a number of prizes including the prestigious Krzysztof Kieslowski Award for Best Feature Film, the Maysles Brothers Award for Best Documentary and the achievement-based John Cassavetes Award. This years festival runs from the 12th to 22nd November 2009.

"Christmas with Dad", directed by Conor McCormack and produced by Sarah Tierney, premiered at the 62nd Edinburgh International Film Festival 2008 where it was awarded Best Scottish Short Documentary. Since then it has screened at Encounters Short Film Festival 2008, Sheffield International Documentary Film Festival 2008, London Short Film Festival 2009, Glasgow Film Festival 2009, Hot Docs: 16th Canadian International Documentary Festival 2009, IFI Stranger Than Fiction Documentary Film Festival 2009, 21st Galway Film Fleadh 2009 (Winner, Best Short Documentary), 23rd Parnu International Documentary and Anthropology Film Festival 2009, and the 9th Gimli International Film Festival 2009.

This month, the film will also screen at the Branchage Jersey International Film Festival, the 28th Uppsala International Short Film Festival, the 9th Viscult Festival of Visual Culture, the 13th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, followed by the 35th International Filmets Festival of Badalona in November.
