Pollphail selected to the 7th World Film Festival of Bangkok 2009

10 Sep 2009

Following its world premier at The Times BFI 53rd London Film Festival in October, creative documentary "Pollphail" will screen at the 7th World Film Festival of Bangkok in November 2009.

Produced for the Scottish Screen / Scottish Documentary Institutes 'Bridging the Gap' scheme, creative documentary "Pollphail" explores the imagined future of a village-in-limbo, built to great acclaim and expense during the 1970s oil boom, but never inhabited. Combining an unusual use of 'minds-eye' archive with stunning photography and a haunting soundscape, "Pollphail" unravels this unique and unsettling story to reveal a very different reality than that which was planned for the village, and clashing ideals about how its future should now play out... "Pollphail" is directed by Matthew Lloyd, produced by Carina Wilson and edited by Timo Langer, Exec Produced by Sarah Tierney for Clarity Productions.

The 7th World Film Festival of Bangkok has become a major showcase in Southeast Asia of independent films and new work from around the globe. The festival takes place from the 6th to 15th November 2009.
